What you'll do
- Park or get dropped at the upper parking area → walk 5—10 minutes to the main lookout → shoot the T-Rex headland → (optional) hike 30—60 minutes down and longer back up if conditions and fitness allow.
Before you go
- Safety: Do not swim—powerful shore break and rip currents; fatalities occur. Heed local signage and barriers.
- Trail is steep and can be slick; no sandals for the descent. Carry water/electrolytes; avoid midday heat.
- Operations and local fees may change without notice; small cash needed for entry/parking.
Good to know
- Location: Bunga Mekar, Nusa Penida, Klungkung Regency. Reach Nusa Penida by fast boat from Sanur; Kelingking is ~45—60 min by road from the main pier.
- Best light crowds trade-off: late afternoon (roughly 3—5 pm) for sunshine on the cliff without the morning shadow; sunrise is quiet but the cliff can be backlit.
- Practical hours are daylight; the area is effectively open 24/7, but stick to daytime for safety.
