The Round Tower (Rundetårn, Copenhagen) — Spiral Ramp Climb + Observation Platform Views + Library Hall Exhibition (Ticketed Entry)

Highlights

Ticketed entry to Rundetårn (ramp climb + viewing platform).

About this experience

The Round Tower (Rundetårn) is one of Copenhagen’s most iconic viewpoints — you climb a unique spiral ramp (not regular stairs most of the way) up to the viewing platform for city panoramas, and you can also see the Library Hall exhibition space as part of standard admission. Entry is ticketed, and ordinary entry tickets cannot be bought beforehand (you buy at the ticket office).

What's included

  • Ticketed entry to Rundetårn (ramp climb + viewing platform).
  • Access to the current exhibition (included when the Library Hall is open).

Who it's for

  • Perfect for: first-time Copenhagen visitors, photographers, architecture lovers, “best city view” hunters.
  • Not ideal if you struggle with long uphill ramps or heights (it’s a steady climb + elevated views).
  • Children (0—17): free, but children 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

What you'll do

  • Buy your ticket at the entrance, walk the spiral ramp up, enjoy the views from the platform, then check out the Library Hall exhibition if it’s open.

Before you go

  • Tickets / price (official): Adults 60 DKK (students 40 DKK; children 0—17 free).
  • Ticketing rule (official): no advance purchase for ordinary entry (on-site ticket office only).
  • Opening hours (official winter season): All days 10:00—18:00 (Nov 24 — Mar 31).
  • Closures (official): Closed Jan 5 — Feb 5 (entire Rundetaarn). Also closed Dec 24—25 and Jan 1; Dec 31 closes at 15:00.

Good to know

  • Time needed: 45—90 minutes.
  • Go earlier for fewer people at the top.

Why this is worth it

Copenhagen viewpoint classic: spiral ramp climb + observation platform, ticketed entry (Adults 60 DKK). Winter hours 10:00—18:00 daily — but closed Jan 5 to Feb 5.
